Pro-am golfer? or amateur? or whatever! What are the steps in becoming a professional golfer and whatnot? How good do you have to be?

basically if you play golf and not for money, you are considered to be an amateur.

But to be on the tour, you need to be a good golfer, shooting in the mid to low 70′s consistently.

To be a pro, you need to go through Q school, Qualifying School.
