How can I help fix my slice in my drive?
Question by Craig: How can I help fix my slice in my drive?
I am a bogey golfer, shoot in the mid 80′s on a good day. I am outstanding with my irons in comparison to my driver, considering I always hit my irons flush, accurate and long. I normally hit my driver straight 75% when I go to the range. Straight and about 275 yards. Then I get to the course and slice the living crap out of it about 225 yards out and 50 yards to the right. As for my stance, I like to line up the ball more towards my front foot..
I have become so use to just teeing off with my 4 iron about 220 yards straight down the fairway. But obviously, with a fix of my drive, I would rather hit it 275 yards straight down the fairway.
If it wasn’t for good recovery and approach shots, I would shoot about 100.
Any help?? Thank you so much.

If I were a bogey golfer, I would want to play a course where I didn’t have to hit a lot of long shots over hazards. Courses with slope ratings around 120 or less won’t have a lot of shots played directly over water hazards. If you see a course that seems sort of short, but the slope rating is 133, you know there’ll be plenty of hazards you have to go over to get to the greens, and that’s not particularly fun for any golfer, let alone someone who has a hard time making a lot of pars. Courses with lower slope rates let you bounce the ball into the greens.

Q&A: What % of all golfers shoot bogey golf?
Question by cmcpnd: What % of all golfers shoot bogey golf?
I have heard contradicting stats regarding the % of bogey golfs of all golfers. Can anyone point me to a reliable source for the answer? Thanks.

A bogey golfer would be about a 14 handicap. Most of the folks I’ve played with, across all age groups, don’t carry a 14 or lower handicap. You also have to remember a lot of golfers don’t play as frequently as they would like. I would suggest 80%+ are bogey golfers or worse.
