Question by Megan F: Golf Olympics 2016 Rio?
I started playing golf recently and live for the sport. It’s on my mind 24/7. I even practice my putting on our carpets. I’m soon to join a club and receive my official handicap. What I was wondering is how can I make myself known for the Olympic team? I live in a small country and there aren’t any extremely famous women golfers in my country so if I just compete in loads of competitions would that be adequate or do I have to do anything else? Thanks

As far as I know its based on the world golf rankings (which I find bogus because like you I would love to try and qualify) I think something like the top 15 in the world are automatically in and then the rest of the 60 person field is chosen based on top 2 golfers from each country that doesn’t already have 2 represented in the top 15.
